Samuel

Hello,
Thank you for your message. Yes, the end of our trip went very well. In terms of our guides, our feedback is mitigated: in Beijing, we think you work with a very good person and we really appreciated her. Her French level is really good and her general knowledge make her a very good guide, and not only on the scheduled visits. In Xi’An however we felt like our guide was more concerned by her personal issues than the visits. For the food tour, Michelle was great. In Ping’an the hotel owner could barely be called a guide, her English wasn’t good, but she was of a great help to us. Finally, in Guilin Sophie was more of a chaperone than a guide. She’s motivated but still a bit young, maybe even too tender. Her French level is far from reaching the other two guides’, but still she made our transportation and visits much easier. She accompanied us until the last possible moment at the airport. She should get better with time.
As for the driver, except for the problem we had in Ping’an, they were all very good. By the way the last one took us (after we agreed) to climb a karstic peak that wasn’t the one on the planning but seemed more interesting to us. There were no tourists and the view was really beautiful. You can ask Sophie its name as I don’t remember it.
For the hotels: except Beijing where the only good point of this hotel was its location, the other hotels were very good. Mercure Hotel, although it is an international brand, didn’t really have any staff that could speak English, on the contrary to the other three smaller hotels. In Ping’an, Yangshuo and Pingyao we enjoyed the size and charming touch of the rooms.
Have a good weekend.
