Discover Indonesia
Indonesia, a country with 17504 islands, can’t be just a one-time destination, nor a unique culture and people. You’ll have to choose carefully where you’d like to begin (and we can help you just with that). Well-known Bali can be a good choice for a start, as its fame makes it quite a multicultural place; you’ll get to discover the jungle, rice fields and small villages where people still live in a traditional way, even mountains and lakes such as lake Bratan and its famous temple; but you’ll also get to experience the melting pot of Ubud or the beaches at Sanur. Of course, it’s also an unmissable destination for yoga, meditation and wellness practices, for the peaceful atmosphere of Bali makes it a paradise for finding stillness, and yourself. Lombok, a volcanic island, and the surrounding Gili islands, will be the perfect place for a relaxing time at the beach, and explore the ocean looking for sea turtles. You’ll enjoy sea activities such as surfing and diving, but you can also climb up mount Rinjani: the view on the ocean and islands will reward you for the hike. If you’re more adventurous and enjoy trekking, Java is your island: you’ll get to climb up volcanos such as mount Bromo or mount Ijen. You can combine these hikes with the discovery of the amazing historical sites of Borobudur (the biggest Buddhist temple in the world) or Prambanan (240 Hindu temples). In your following trips, why not go for Tanjung Putting national park in Borneo, Lorentz park in Papua or Harau valley in Sumatra, to observe gibbons and chase waterfalls? You may also want to explore Sulawesi, a large but much less visited island… Anyway, you get it, Indonesia will blow your mind all the way!
