Day 1: Beijing – Chengde

This morning, you’ll leave Beijing with your driver and reach Chengde in the north-east (~3.5hrs drive). Chengde used to be the summer residence of the last Emperors of the Qing dynasty, a history that you can still feel and see around you in Chengde. After checking in at your hotel and a lunch, visit the Summer Palace, the biggest imperial garden in the world.

Day 2: Chengde – Beijing (B)

After breakfast, your driver will take you around Chengde for more discoveries. You will visit Putuo Zongcheng temple, an impressive replica of the Potala Palace in Lhasa. Then you’ll visit Puning temple, a Buddhist complex built in 1755 during famous Qianlong Emperor’s reign. You’ll finish your visit with Xumi Fushou temple, also known as a the Temple of Happiness and Longevity. It was designed for Qianlong Emperor’s 70th birthday in a Tibetan and Chinese fusion style.
After your visits, your driver will take you back to Beijing.
