A tour to Guangxi villages

Upon your arrival at Guilin airport, your driver will greet you and take you to Ping’an village in the north-west (2.5hrs drive). From a parking lot down the mountain you will walk up through the village to your guesthouse. To this occasion, prepare a small bag you can take with you for one night while leaving your suitcase in a secured place near the parking lot.
Check in at your guesthouse and enjoy some rest and free time in the village.

This morning, enjoy a few hours’ walk through the terraced fields. Your steps will take you on different hillsides and give you beautiful points of view, as well as allowing you to observe people’s life in the villages you’ll walk through. After lunch, you’ll meet your driver who will take you down south to Yangshuo (3hrs drive). On the way, you’ll stop at the Seven Stars Hill that offers a great panoramic view of the region, and visit Liu San Jie, a local tea fabric. Finally you’ll reach the Li River in Yangshuo and check in at your hotel. In the evening, you’ll witness a traditional river fishing with tamed cormorants.

Today, discover Yangshuo’s surroundings and very special countryside. First your driver will take you to the Moon Hill and its very specific rock crescent; you can walk up for a better view (~40mn). Then you’ll visit the Silver Cave, another geological wonder. In the afternoon, you’ll reach Xingping village for a raft tour on the Li river, passing by charming villages, bamboo forests and rice fields. The 20RMB banknote is inspired by these landscapes.
In the evening, option to include Liu San Jie performance, an outdoor lights and music show on water that employs hundred of locals from the neighboring villages. This show, based on a very popular Chinese musical, was orchestrated by film director Zhang Yimou.

Hotel: River Lodge

This morning, be ready for a different discovery of the countryside, on the bicycle this time (or electric scooter)! You’ ll start a 35km tour that will take you on smaller and less known roads to Fuli village. According to the day of your visit, explore the local market. Then go on to Liugong, visit the village and reach its temple that overlooks the river from a cliff. Finally, ride back to Yangshuo and your hotel.

This morning, your bicycle will take you to another direction. Ride along the Yulong river, across the rice fields, peanuts fields and fishing farms. Cross a few countryside villages and their old and new architectures, and reach Jiuxian, a very well-preserved village with beautiful courtyard houses. Go on then to the 400 years old Dragon’s Bridge. Go back to Yangshuo on the other side of the river.
In the afternoon you’ll end this trip to Guangxi. Your driver will take you back to Guilin and you will board a flight to your next destination.
