If you’d like to discover the countryside, just head for Cameron Highlands and its beautiful tea plantations, or explore Taman Negara national park, located in one of the oldest forests in Asia. With such a rich biodiversity, this forest is a perfect place for a trek into the heart of the jungle, where you’ll discover some mysterious types of flowers and witness wild animals’ life. If you prefer mountains, mount Kinabalu and its 4095m high will be your playground. Malaysia also extends to the island of Borneo: an authentic stay in Sarawak traditional villages will allow you to peak into the way of life of the last tribal people of Borneo. With due respect to these local tribes customs and traditions, it is possible to stay in one of their “long houses” traditionally built on stilts. Borneo will also keep surprising you with its natural beauty: don’t miss a trek in Gurung Mulu national park, making your way between its forests, high rocky peaks and incredible caves network.
